After creating an account you will be asked to upload a resume (optional), we anchor off your education, experience, and strengths in your resume, the job description to give you AI based tips on what to focus on in the interview. After your interview we score you on your performance and provide more tips for improving.

We believe AI should empower humans and help you reach your full potential. Interviewing is a high cognitive load activity, by recording in the background CareerFriend allows you to focus on the interviewer and session. Some AI transcription apps can encourage mis-representation. We want you to learn and improve, not just your interviewing skills but depth of subject matter and believe that going reflecting, research, and practice after the session is best to do this.
-
We recommend you check consent requirement laws in your region. While some US States require both parties to consent to recordings most don’t. We recommend getting consent when required.
If the interview is an AI Agent screening you don’t need consent since there is no human on the other end.
CareerFriend will remind you to get consent before each recording. -
No. You can tap Record Now on the home screen to jump straight into a quick practice session with no job posting required.
For the most targeted feedback, paste a job URL first. CareerFriend analyses the role and customises the focus areas and tips to that specific position.
-
CareerFriend works with publicly accessible job posting URLs — LinkedIn, company career pages, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and most other job boards. Paste the full job listing URL and the AI will extract the role details automatically.
If the job page requires a login or the URL is behind a paywall, the analysis may not work. In that case, use the Record Now option instead.
-
During onboarding you will be prompted to upload your resume. You can also update it at any time from your account settings. CareerFriend accepts PDF, Word (.docx), and plain-text files.
Once uploaded, the AI identifies your core strength areas and surfaces them during practice so your answers stay grounded in your real experience.tem description

Recordings can be up to 60 minutes long. The app shows a warning at 59 minutes and stops automatically at the limit. For most practice sessions, 20–30 minutes is plenty.
-
Using proprietary data on what a strong session looks like and other public information, the AI reviews your full transcript and surfaces the two or three things you did best and the two or three areas with the most room for improvement. Each item comes with a specific description — not generic advice — so you know exactly what to build on or address next time.
If you uploaded your resume, the analysis also grounds observations in your actual experience and strengths where relevant.
-
When you start a new session for a job you have already practiced for, CareerFriend asks which round it is — Phone Screen, Technical, Final Round, or a custom label you type in. All rounds are grouped under that job on the Interview Process screen so you can see your progression at a glance.
